Their debut's success seems to have gotten the attention of more than a few industry heavy hitters. On production duties this time around is \u003cstrong\u003eFlood\u003c\/strong\u003e (who's produced everyone from \u003cstrong\u003eU2\u003c\/strong\u003e to \u003cstrong\u003ePJ Harvey\u003c\/strong\u003e) and behind the boards handling the mixing is \u003cstrong\u003eNigel Godrich\u003c\/strong\u003e (who you know from, well, \u003ca target=\"_blank\"\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eRadiohead\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/a\u003e). Even 90s video powerhouse \u003cstrong\u003eChris Cunningham\u003c\/strong\u003e has been enlisted to handle the visual side of the album. And while \u003ci\u003eWarpaint\u003c\/i\u003e is not a drastic departure from their debut, it certainly takes things in a different direction. From \"Keep It Healthy,\" which sounds like \u003ca href=\"https:\/\/www.turntablelab.com\/turntablelab.com\/search?q=cat+power\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\"\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eCat Power\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/a\u003e jamming with \u003ca target=\"_blank\"\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eGoat\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/a\u003e to the heavily hip hop (possibly \u003ca target=\"_blank\"\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eM.I.A.\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/a\u003e) influenced \"Disco\/\/Very,\" this is certainly a different cup of tea. Fans will be more than pleased, though. The ethereal textures and beautiful female vocals are intact and pushed to the forefront. It's a kind of magical transformation, as if Warpaint have engaged in some sort of subtle metamorphosis under the spotlight.
