Costello had been performing in clubs and pubs in Liverpool and London since 1970, but had a hard time getting a recording contract. He was initially tapped as a songwriter, but after recording some demos Stiff Records decided he should release an album instead. Recorded in just six four-hour sessions, the release of My Aim Is True changed everything for Costello. Stiff Records had him quit his job so he could promote the record, and it kicked off a string of five albums that Costello would record with producer Nick Lowe. Includes the songs: "Alison," "Less Than Zero," and "Welcome To The Working Week." Thirteen tracks in all.
